Our history

2005

In 2005, Martin Maurer and Dietmar Maurer founded the company proxve Server Solutions GmbH. The history of our proxve company began shortly before the launch of our first product, proxve Mail Gateway. Our goal is to create efficient and manageable GNU/Linux software products, so that everyone can build secure, safe, and scaled IT environments.

2008

Three years later, in 2008, the first state version 0.9 of proxve Virtual Environment, our open source server virtualization platform, was released. The solution is the first to combine container-based virtualization and KVM hypervisors in a single platform and allow users to manage it with an integrated web interface.

2020

From the beginning, the proxve Virtual Environment has an integrated backup tool, which works very well for minor backups. To provide backup also for large VMs and minimize the duration of two backups and the use of hardware, we developed the proxve Backup Server, based on the Rust programming language, and launched the first available version in 2020.
